A new gin to us here at the London Gin Club, but far from a new gin in the world of gin given the current distillers (brothers) are the 11th generation of long line of distinguished gin distillers at the Nolet’s distillery in Schiedam, Holland.nolets

Bottled at a very satisfying 47.6% the brothers Nolet have created a very interesting gin indeed.

On the nose you are immediately hit with sweet, floral, fruity notes. Turkish Rose (which is immediately distinguished at once as an enticing waft of Turkish Delight) orris and a hint of liquorice which is subtly balanced with coriander and Juniper notes.

Tasted neat it’s sweet turkish rose all the way, supported by soft peach which is followed by a dry juniper finish with a nice dry bite that balances the sweetness. This gin is, interestingly enough, a sweet, floral, dry gin, it may seem a contradiction however it is a combination that works very, very well.

With tonic the sweet fruit notes soften and round out. This is a very floral and fruit forward gin, an excellent summer time gin and tonic, garnished, we think, with a lemon twist, which will balance nicely with the rose and peach and raspberry used.

We also think, in a French 75, Nolet’s SiIver is going to make a very delightfully, fruity champagne cocktail somewhere between a classic gin cocktail and  a contemporary Bellini.

Roll-on summer, if you are looking for a light, refreshing, floral / fruit led tipple, then Nolet’s will see you nicely into summer.
